My Trip Diary
Today, I visited Hyunchungsa, a place dedicated to honoring the spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. One of the highlights was the old house where he lived for over ten years before getting married and passing the military examination.
The museum houses an impressive collection of ancient books and artifacts, including the Nanjung Ilgi (War Diary), Imjinjangcho, Seogancheop, Sabuyuseo, and the Chungmugong Janggeom (sword).
I was particularly fascinated by the well-organized displays that introduced the naval battles of the Imjin War,
the famous turtle ship, and perspectives from Japan and other countries.
Exploring the entire site took me about 1 to 2 hours, and I walked approximately 5,000 to 8,000 steps to take it all in.
Afterward, I headed to the nearby Mediterranean Village in Asan for a delightful coffee and meal.
If I have more time on my trip, I’d love to visit the Oeam Folk Village and Gongseri Catholic Church as well!
